HOW TO REMOVE CRACKS IN THE HEEL AT HOME


Cracked heels and blackened feet can happen to anyone. Normally, the shoes that you wear, particularly during the hot and dry summer months will cause your feet to dry out and could cause them to crack. There are a few products on the market to help heal dry feet but there are very effective home remedies that you can try as well.

HOME REMEDIES

1. A warm water soak and a pumice stone can help
One of the easiest home remedies for dry feet and cracked heels is a warm water soak. You can remove some of the hard skin from your feet and heels by simply soaking your feet in some warm water with a little sea salt in it. The water will soften the skin and it will make it easier to remove the hard, dead skin with a pumice stone.

2. Shea butter
Shea butter is another one of good home remedies for dry feet and cracked heels. Before you go to bed, massage a generous amount of Shea butter into your feet and heels and then, cover with clean socks. Leave Shea butter on overnight and it will penetrate deep into the dry skin, it will moisturize your feet and is ideal for cracked heels

3. Banana and avocado treatment for cracked heels
Mash up one ripe banana and one ripe avocado and apply the paste to your feet and heels. Leave it on for about fifteen or twenty minutes before washing off with warm water.

4. Olive oil 
Massaging olive oil into your heels will provide a deep down moisturizing effect. Massage some extra virgin olive oil into your heels and leave it on for thirty minutes or one hour. After an hour, wash your feet with some lukewarm water and repeat daily, until your feet transform into soft and silky smooth.

5. Lemon juice, honey, and sesame oil
Lemon juice contains a mild, natural acid, which will gently soften and dissolve dead, hard skin. Sesame oil is very nourishing and moisturizing, it will help soften and soothe dry feet very efficiently. Honey is also a great moisturizer, it has wonderful antibacterial properties and can help get rid of even antibiotic-resistant bacteria. Soak your feet in a mix of honey, sesame oil and lemon juice solution for ten or fifteen minutes and then, scrub them lightly with a loofah or pumice stone to remove the dead skin.

6. Drink plenty of water
One of the reasons that your feet can crack is through dehydration. Be sure to always drink plenty of pure water to hydrate you and cool you down, especially during the sunny summer months, so that your entire system and, especially, your skin stay hydrated.

7. Paraffin wax and sweet almond oil
A paraffin treatment is one of those useful home remedies for dry feet and cracked heels.Warm some paraffin wax with some sweet almond oil (only slightly warm it up) and mix it into a smooth paste. After giving your feet a scrub first, apply the paste over your feet, cover with socks and leave on overnight, before washing off in the morning.

8. Exfoliate your feet regularly
Instead of using harsh chemical exfoliates, you can make your own from some simple natural ingredients. Try this mixture: one tablespoon of finely ground oatmeal, one tablespoon of raw honey, two tablespoons of olive oil and one tablespoon of lemon juice. Mix the ingredients into a fine paste and rub it into your heels.

9. Egg and lemon mask for dry feet and cracked heels
Mix one egg yolk, one tablespoon of lime juice and one teaspoon of rice flour. Apply this mask to your feet after a warm water soak and keep in on for fifteen or twenty minutes, before washing off; then apply Shea butter or your favorite moisturizer and enjoy beautiful and soft feet.

10. Grated apple for soothing cracked heels
 Another wonderful home remedy that can help you soften dry feet and get rid of cracked heels is grated apple. Grate one medium apple, mix it with a couple of teaspoons of honey and apply as a mask to your dry feet and heels; keep it on for fifteen or twenty minutes before rinsing with lukewarm water.

11. Castor oil and socks
Not only castor oil can do wonders for your hair, but it can also almost miraculously soften and moisturize your feet. Rich in nutrients and vitamins, castor oil also has anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. Simply apply a thick layer of powerfully softening castor oil on your feet and cracked heels, put on socks and leave it on overnight. In the morning you’ll wake up with beautifully soft and smooth feet.
