25 HOME REMEDIES FOR REMOVING ACNE

Pimples generally occur on the face, neck, back, and shoulders.

HOME REMEDIES

1. Lemon Juice
Mix rose water and lemon juice in equal proportion. Apply it on the affected skin and rinse off after ½ an hour. Use this remedy continuously for 3-4 weeks to get rid of pimples.

Lemon juice can also be mixed with an equal quantity of groundnut oil. Apply it to the face to cure the problem.Alternatively, prepare a paste by combining sandalwood powder and lemon juice. Application of this paste on the skin reduces pimples to a great extent.
A combo of cinnamon powder and lemon juice also works wonders for the acne-prone skin.

2. Honey
Mix 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder and 3 tablespoons of honey. Apply the resultant paste on the face and keep it overnight. This remedy works as a quick cure for pimples. A facial mask prepared by mixing honey and grated apple also serve as an excellent treatment for acne.
Alternatively, add lime juice and a teaspoon of honey in a glass of warm water. Stir well. Drink it on an empty stomach, in the morning. It flushes out the toxins from the body and also maintains the pH of the skin, thereby, keeps the pimples at bay.

3. Garlic
Rub garlic on the affected area many times a day. Though it smells pungent but is one of the most effective home remedies for pimples. Moreover, add garlic to your food as it purifies blood and prevents the breakout of acne.

4. Tomatoes
Apply the pulp of raw tomatoes on your face. Let it stay for an hour. Then rinse off with water. Along with reducing pimples, this remedy will bring a natural glow to your face. However, you must use this remedy for a couple of weeks.

5. Potato
Potato is one of the most effective home remedies for pimples. Grate a potato and extract its juice. Soak a cotton ball in this juice and apply it to the affected area. Or else, cut a potato into thin slices. Put these slices on the pimples. It will also reduce the blemishes making your skin clear and flawless.

6. Orange Peel
Since orange is loaded with vitamin C and citric acid, it is considered as one of the best ingredients to rejuvenate your skin. It also helps heal several skin problems including acne. Dry some orange peels in the sun. Grind them to make a powder. Now add some rose water to form a paste. Apply it all over your face. After 15-20 minutes, wash off with cool water.

7. Ice Cubes
Give your pimples a cold therapy to make them less noticeable. Wrap some ice cubes in a cloth. Place it on the pimples to reduce inflammation and redness.

8. Toothpaste
Before hitting the hay, dab a small amount of toothpaste on the acne. In the morning, you will notice that the size of a pimple has reduced considerably.

9. Papaya
An enzyme, called papain, found in papaya helps reduce inflammation and averts the formation of pus. Mash the flesh of a raw papaya and spread it on the face. Wash it off with warm water after 15-20 minutes. Apply the moisturizer. Application of papaya juice can also cure the pimples and acne naturally.

10. Pomegranate
Take some pomegranate peels and roast them. Grind them to form a powder. Add lime juice to it. Apply this paste on the pimples. Use this remedy on a regular basis.

11. Nutmeg
Add raw milk to ground nutmeg. Spread the resultant paste on the face. After 1-2 hours, rinse it off. It will not only cure the pimples but will also remove the scars.

12. Fuller’s Earth
Prepare a paste by mixing water or rose water and fuller’s earth. Use it on the affected skin. It is a tested and tried the remedy for pimples, and also absorbs excess oil from the skin.

13. Sugar Scrub
Exfoliate your skin to remove sebum, dirt and dead cells from the skin, which are the major causes of pimples. Mix brown sugar and honey in the ratio of 3:1. Apply this mixture on the face and rub gently in circular motion. Let it dry and then wash off with cold water.

14. Cinnamon Pack
Take some cinnamon powder. Add gram flour and honey to it. Apply it all over the face. Once it dries, rub in circular motions. After 12-15 minutes, rinse off with water. Besides fighting off pimples, it also brings a radiant glow on your face.

15. Oatmeal
Oatmeal reduces redness and swelling associated with pimples. It also exfoliates your skin and absorbs the excess oil. All you need to do is cook a cup of oatmeal. Allow it to cool. Add juice of ½ a lemon and 1 teaspoon of honey to it. Apply it and let it stay for 15-20 minutes. Afterwards, rinse off with lukewarm water.

16. Cucumber
Apply grated cucumber on the face and leave it on for 15-20 minutes. For the best results, add 2-3 tsp of lemon juice to it. Alternatively, place cucumber slices on the affected areas.

17. Baking Soda
The antiseptic, inflammatory and exfoliating properties of baking soda make it an amazing home treatment for pimples. Mix a little amount of water in 1-2 teaspoons of baking soda. Spread the paste on your face. Wash off after a few minutes. Or else, mix 5 tablespoons honey, juice of ½ a lemon, 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder, and 1-2 teaspoons of baking soda. Use this remedy 1-2 times a week.

18. Castor Oil
Melt equal quantities of castor oil, glycerine, and lanolin on the very low heat. Store this cream in a small jar. Gently rub the pimples twice a day.

19. Apple Cider Vinegar
Apple cider vinegar regulates the pH balance of the skin and kills the acne-causing bacteria. Mix ACV and water at 1:3 ratio. Apply this solution on the zits with the help of a cotton ball.  Wash off with water after 10 minutes. Reapply 2-3 times a day. Rub moisturizer after every application.

NoteDon’t overdo as it will dry out your skin, triggering the sebaceous glands to secrete more sebum, which will ultimately result in outbreaks.

20. Aspirin
Take 2-3 aspirin tablets. Crush them into a powder. Add some water to make a paste. Spread it on the face. Leave it on for 10-15 minutes. Rinse off with water. This is the best remedy to get rid of pimples fast.

21. Steam
Boil water in a pot. Drape a towel on your head and lean forward over the pot for 10-15 minutes. Now, remove the towel. Pat your face dry. By using this remedy, clogged pores will open up and turn dirt free, which will make your face clearer.

22. Cabbage
Mash some fresh cabbage leaves. Apply the poultice so obtained on the affected areas. Leave it on for ½ an hour, and then rinse off.

23. Egg White
Egg whites are an inexpensive and easy way to rebuild your cells and make your skin acne-free. Besides providing nourishment to your skin, they also absorb excess oil. Beat 2-3 egg whites until they turn frothy. Apply 2-3 layers of it on your face with your fingertips. Let it stay for 15-20 minutes. Use warm water to rinse it off completely. Pat dry and apply moisturizer.

24. Strawberries
Both strawberries are a great treatment for pimples. Mash 3 strawberries (don’t over-mash; otherwise, they will turn runny). Add 2 teaspoons honey to them. Apply the mixture on your face and let it sit for 15-20 minutes. Then wash off with warm water. If you feel dryness on your skin, apply moisturizer. Use this remedy 2 times a week.
Or else, top off a strawberry and cut it into slices. Rub a slice on the affected skin. Rinse off after 15-20 minutes.

25. Banana Peel
Rub the inner side of a banana peel on your face in a circular motion. Lutein, a powerful antioxidant present in the banana peel, wards off the pimples and also promotes healthy cell growth.
